In der Werkserie «Societad da Tschuttas» zeichnet Marina Lutz Menschen, deren Köpfe oder Arme aus Tannenzapfen und Ästen bestehen. Als Vorlage für ihre surrealen Figuren dienen Lutz Fotografien aus den 1910ern, welche in ihrer Heimatregion, der Surselva geschossen wurden. Lutz interessiert der starke Aberglaube dieser Bergregion, wo es fast zu jedem Flecken Land eine mysteriöse Sage gibt. Darin spielt der Wald oft eine wichtige Rolle. Denn es ist ein Ort, der mit seinen dunklen Geheimnissen die Fantasie der Menschen anregt. |

«Marina Lutz presents her series Societad da Tschuttas, based on pre-war photographs taken in the Swiss Alps. This region is renowned for its supersitions and folklore (many of which are set amongst the woods), the inhabitants have formed a symbiotic relationship with the myths resulting in the arboreal mutations depicted.
