My Rocky Walls

In der Serie «My Rocky Walls» befasst sich die Künstlerin mit der Topographie ihrer Heimatregion. Die starken Farben und kalligrafisch bewegten Pinselstriche sind Ausdruck ihrer ambivalenten Gefühle gegenüber den «steinigen Felswänden», welche man aus der Talperspektive sieht. Bergwände sind für Lutz einerseits bedrohlich, denn sie nehmen einen das Sonnenlicht weg und versperren die Sicht ins Weite. Andererseits faszinieren sie aber durch ihre Stärke und spenden Schutz und Orientierung. Die Künstlerin bezeichnet ihre Landschaften auch als «Karikaturen», da es sich um eine überzeichnete, subjektive Darstellung handelt.

«My Rocky Walls» is Lutz' artistic hassle with the topography of her home region. The strong colours and the calligraphic brush strokes are an expression of her ambivalent feelings towards the mountain walls, that you have to look at if you live in a Swiss valley. Lutz likes to call her mountain landscapes «caricatures» because she depicts them in a very subjective and exagerated way.
