Wie bei den meisten ihrer Arbeiten nimmt Lutz das Ländliche als autobiografisches Thema auf. Aus den ehemaligen Spielzeugfiguren macht sie edle Designobjekte. Die vergoldeten Tiere auf ihren Naturholzsockeln sollen bewusst an “Awards” wie etwa dem berühmten Oscar erinnern. Lutz möchte damit die einheimischen Nutztiere würdigen, denen «die Schweizer Kultur unendlich viel zu verdanken hat». Ein Bespiel dafür sei beispielsweise die Kuh, die als Leder-, Fleisch- und Milchlieferant dient und das Feld gleichzeitig “mäht” und düngt. Mit den «Animal Awards» verneigt sich Lutz vor diesen ehrenvollen Tieren.

​Because of her childhood in a rural area of Switzerland Lutz often works around countryside topics such as landscapes or cows. In this series Lutz uses miniature toy animals to transform them into precious design objects. The gilded animals on their wooden sockets resemble awards such as the famous Oscar. Lutz would like to honour the local farm animals. She points out that the Swiss culture should be deeply grateful to them, because they have served their owners with important products such as leather, meat and milk. Furthermore animals like the cow have taken care of our fields by eating the grass and simultaneously fertilizing it with their dung. In early days this was why the inhabitants of the Alps were able to survive. But still today, in times of wealth and globalization, the right of existence of our «production animals» is reduced to their productivity. With her "Animal Awards" Lutz takes a bow to these honorable animals.
